Booked tickets to visit the main sites in Athens, avoiding the queues and saving time. The audio guide to the Plaka district is very interesting. On the other hand, the audio guide to the Accropolis (available as an extra on the app) was, in our opinion, a little too descriptive and didn't give enough context/explanation of the history, unlike the one for Plaka.

A trip to the Areopagus, a dream come true, I passed the same hill where the apostle Paul was, incredible, seeing and being in the place where real stories were lived is priceless, only what you feel is worth it, as if the energy of that place gave you a 100% charge in your life battery, don't give up on your dreams, believe in yourself, you can do it.

The ticket buying process was very straight-forward. The venues were all interesting and you could visit them all on one or two days as they were so close together. The only negative side is that you HAD to visit the acropolis first according to the online chat beforehand; it would be nice to be able to visit some of the other sites and to visit the acropolis at a time of your choice throughout the time you have.

i bought tickets for acropolis plus other facilities and they are for acropolis i had fixed time and day, while for the others i could go whenever i wanted, the ticket is valid for several days. for audioguide you have to install an app and with the code arrived on the ticket you activate audioguide.

It allowed us to visit attractions we may not have otherwise. Also assess to the different sites was easy and we enjoyed the experience. The audio guide was easy to use and it made the tour of the different site more interesting. However, the audio guide was sometimes hard to follow. It would help if there was a more specific guide to which part was being discussed.

Acropolis and Parthenon are wonderful. The audio guide very poor in descriptions. More interesting and detailed were the signs in English in front of the sculptures. I expected the audio guide to come much closer to that level of description.

Ticket purchase operation fairly simple and fast. Unfortunately being on vacation is not having a printer available I could not get the paper to fold it and use it as a guide for the various stages of the visit. The third step regarding the audio guide is not clear as the first filter indicates that by purchasing the tickets I am entitled to an audio device included in the price chosen, instead then once paid I am advised to download an app to purchase the audio guide, with instructions in English and not in my language. Then I found out at the acropolis entrance, by asking the guides, that there is no audio guide x acropolis and that is incorrect!

The price of the tickets was great, and getting to the Acropolis from the cruise port was easy on the public bus. The site was incredible, and one of the highlights of our Italy, Greece, Turkey trip. However the audio guide was not a good option, and the reason was that it would start/stop or skip ahead depending on where it thought you were geograpically located (proximity to which point of interest). We spent too much time interacting with the app to try to skip back/forward to get the inforamtion on what we were seeing ... but eventually gave up out of frustration. This was the experience for both my wife and I on two different phones (so it wasn't just me). My recommedation would be to simply purchase the tickets, and skip the audio guide (fee) that was an extra charge as it was unworkable for us (at least where we stood, or on our particular day).

The ticket booking system worked well. It was a great experience to walk back into history and admire the marvels of the ancient ruins. Though we arrived at 8.30am for a 9.00am entry in late October 24 (off season) there were crowds of visitors, especially from the many groups tours from the cruise ships.

Once you've been there, you know how everything works. We had asked where to line up, and from there it was a breeze. Downloading tickets is definately the way to go! You walk right by all the LONG lines and go right to the entry area. It's a little crowded until you get through the propylaea archway, but then it opens up to the most amazing views! The clio muse audio tour is great, and you use it at your own pace. A truely wonderful time on the top as well as the museum at the end. We gave ourselves all day to experience all there was to enjoy. The docents are very helpful and are more tht willing to help guide you in the most efficient way of seeing the acropolis. The Hop-on-Hop-off bus was a great way to get there and back. In fact, it was so crowded on the way back, that additional busses were called in to accomadate the crowds. Great work on their part! Would we use this again? You bet!! Thanks for making our time there a truely wonderful experience!

We had a beautiful day at the Acropolis. Viewing the Parthenon and other temples was outstanding. It is hard to imagine how these buildings were constructed and then lasted thousands of years. Quite a memory.

The place was way too crowded and on the steps on the grounds there were angry shouts for jd to walk on. You were not even allowed to stop to admire it or take pictures s. Very tense supervisors. Cool bad feeling about something that had been a dream to see in real life for years.

The experience itself was ok. But I booked (via google ) a ticket for the akropolis MUSEUM. Then in the end it turned out to be a ticket for the Acropolis (where we already went to a couple of days before. Then I called Headout. They said they were not responsible for a refund, I should call key tours. (I had bought several tickets at key tours before so I thought they would help (for hundreds of euro's). Then Key tours said they were not responsible so I should get back to Head out. At Head out I got a number from Key tours in de UK and the USA. When I started calling I thought this would cost me a lot more money on telephone bills so I stopped. We decided then to go to the acropolis for a second time. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My experience at the Acropolis was good, I only point out that the audio guide was not for touring the Acropolis but for touring the Plaka neighborhood, in English (very close to the Acropolis). If you have time and know English I recommend it because it shows places that I would not have visited by my own means and it was useful because I did not take any tour. The experience to the temple of Poseidon was very good, as it was punctual, the bus that took us was well equipped (there was wifi and space to charge the phones) and we had audio guides for the tour to Cape Sounion.

Highly recommended and no defects! Everything went excellently. On this excursion we used the south gate as our entrance which was great because we were able to see the Dionysus Theater first and then the Acropolis. The excursion was really worth the money and I recommend using their service.

Since the negative aspects that we encounter on the Hop On Hop Off bus are not mentioned above, I would like to use this space to mention our 'not so favourable' issues. The audio on our bus was not at all good. It was as though the connection in our earphones was at fault, but on moving seats and getting new earbuds, we could tell that the fault was definitely in the sound system itself. Very crackly and very muffled. The seats on the bus were far too small for two people to sit on but the seats were very limited in number. We sat downstairs as the bus was full upstairs. With my husband and I in the seat, I was literally sitting with my bottom on the windowsill of the bus. Not very comfortable at all, and it resulted in me getting a nasty bruise on my thigh. We sat on the bus for about 4 stops until we decided to get off as I we were so uncomfortable. Some people from our group were actually forced to sit on a parcels shelf at the back of the bus, just so that they had somewhere to sit! We had the tickets for a two day pass but after less than a half day, we never got back on. This was the biggest disappointment and waste of money for our whole two weeks holiday. We did take advantage of the 10% discount on the Acropolis and Parthenon tickets and we thoroughly loved every bit of this self guided tour. I do not however, recommend this particular HOHO bus operator at all. Perhaps there are better ones, but it was a big expense and it did not live up to expectations at all.

Re the audio guide, I bought Akropolis tickets, so expected Akropolis audio guide. Instead, it was the MUCH cheaper guide for sites I had visited already. Also, going first day of lower off-season prices was a mistake - many did the same so crowds were HUGE.

We went relatively early, before 09:00 hrs and until 10:00 hrs, we could walk around and admire the whole Acropolis without any inconvenience, then, after 10:00 hrs. the amount of people and agglomeration was such that we had to leave the place.

The hoho bus driver with sight seeing tours did not accept our vouchers and did not allow us on the bus. We missed the acropolipse tour . 20 min later a guide from another tour company explained to the same driver when he returned on his route that we should be allowed entry. However it was too late as we missed the last tour of the day. Fortunately we got there the next day and the skip the line tickets saved quite a bit of time.

My visit to Acropilis was amazing. I went by myself around 5pm. The views were absolutely breathtaking although it was a little crowded. Nonetheless, I got some great photos and people offered to take photos for me. However, I never received the audio equipment. When I arrived at the ticket window, someone pointed me in the directed to get my ticket scanned. I was never offered audio equipment.

We were really impressed by the acropolis. The walking routes were well laid out and the boards informative. Incredible restoration work has been done since I last saw the Parthenon 25 years ago! I would highly recommend visiting. Staff were also helpful and queues managed effectively.

Great experience to see this ancient wonder, we opted to visit the Akropolis first thing in the morning at 8am which was perfect as the crowds were still small the weather was nice but cool and after we finished exploring it was only 10am so plenty of time to do other things during the day, highly recommend and of course you can't be in Athens and don't visit Akropolis so you really don't have a choice but to do it! Well at least I believe so, it is worth it definitely as you can literally feel the energy when you are there.
